Xiaogoubei is the most typical and splendid volcanic rock landform in North China. The five-color stones here are large like buildings or small like bird eggs, and the cemented five colors look like “melted”; the Aobei Peak is 2000m long and 400m thick, and looks like a huge sacred turtle without feet crouching on the top; the “100m painting” Child Cliff of Sikong Mountain possesses thousands of light-yellow naked stone children that the craftsmanship of the nature is always amazing.

    In ancient times, people created the creation myths of “Nv Wa melts the five-color stone to mend the sky and cuts the feet of the turtle to support the four poles” and Nv Wa creating human beings by the soil on the basis of those “splendid, historical, living and complete” object-like things. In the primary forest of Xiaogoubei, the ancient trees are high and their branches are connected, the threads of sunshine radiate into the forest, and refreshing and quietness are spread everywhere. Various kinds of wild animals and plants including yew, paeonia peony, glossy ganoderma, hericium erinaceus, golden eagle and musk deer live in the primary forest. Clean creeks jump on the dark green bedrocks, huge rocks spread randomly, waterfalls connect with each other, and the impending trestles and unique bridges constitute a beautiful landscape. The folk house in the mountainous village is built by stones leaning to the mountain and beside the river. The buildings are unique, the villagers are pure and warm-hearted, and the delicacies are tasted for free. This kind of primary ecological environment is just like a paradise.
